Y Block engines came out in Ford cars from 1955 through to the early 60s Ford Trucks.
The first of the overhead valve push rod engines that Ford produced to replace the trusty flat head V8 engine, the Y block came out in Australian model Customline, Mainline utes, F100, F350, F500, F600 and F800 trucks.  In the USA Y blocks were placed in Ford Victoria, Crown Victoria, Fairlane and Galaxie convertables and Ford trucks of the late 1950s
